European Days of Jewish Culture

The European Days of Jewish Culture form part of a Europe-wide initiative dedicated to preserving, presenting and promoting Jewish culture and heritage. The Jewish Cultural Centre and Mini teater have organised the event in Ljubljana since 2013.

The annual programme on Križevniška Street brings together exhibitions, theatre, music, film, literature, cuisine, guided tours, discussions, workshops and religious life. It introduces visitors to the richness and diversity of Jewish traditions while opening conversations about memory, identity, coexistence and the position of Jewish communities in contemporary Europe.

The European Days of Jewish Culture demonstrate that Jewish heritage is not merely a matter of history. It is a living European culture that continues to develop and engage with the present. The programme is coordinated across Europe by the European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture and Heritage – AEPJ.
