TRAST – Transmedia Stories of Insularity is a Creative Europe project exploring experiences of isolation, belonging and community identity. It brings together eight partner organisations from eight countries and uses transmedia storytelling to give a voice to communities and individuals whose stories frequently remain unseen.
The Jewish Cultural Centre Ljubljana and Mini teater contribute to the project through theatrical, puppetry, musical and museum-based storytelling methods. Activities developed in Ljubljana have included a workshop exploring personal and collective identities, an event dedicated to the Yiddish language, and the street performance Jewish Life in Ljubljana 2, based on historical sources, testimonies and personal stories of the city’s former Jewish residents.
Through art, TRAST creates a space for inclusion, intercultural understanding and critical reflection on prejudice and social stigma.
