The synagogue of the Jewish Cultural Centre has been operating since 2014 and serves as a spiritual and communal centre of Jewish life in Slovenia. Until 2020, religious life in the synagogue was led by Rabbi Ariel Haddad of Chabad Trieste.
Since 2021, the synagogue has worked together with the Liberal Jewish Community of Slovenia under the spiritual leadership of Rabbi Alexander Grodensky. It hosts Shabbat services, holiday celebrations, prayers, study sessions, discussions and celebrations marking important moments in the Jewish life cycle.
As it is the only regularly functioning synagogue in Slovenia, its doors are open to members of all Jewish denominations, Jewish communities and individuals regardless of their religious affiliation, background, gender, sexual orientation or personal identity. The synagogue strives to be a safe, inclusive and welcoming place of prayer, encounter and community.
